The birth of BAHÉ
ShiShi and Aditya Rao(Adi) met by chance at a festival they were both performing at in New York in April 2022. After hearing each other play, they met for five minutes in a noisy club and exchanged contacts. After parting ways and returning to their respective homes (Adi in Texas and ShiShi in New York), the two spent the next six months exchanging music virtually, until they eventually collaborated on their first record"Closer" in August of 2022. ShiShi sent the instrumental of the song to Adi, who swiftly returned a full vocal performance. Upon hearing the result, both artists immediately knew that this was much bigger than a simple collaboration or feature. The resulting sound felt like a perfect combination of their skill sets, creating an evocative new style of dance music that neither had quite heard before.
They quickly finished two more songs, affirming their initial intuition that this collaboration deserved to be delivered to the world through an entirely new artist project. Fast forward to December 2022: the two performed their unreleased music to a captivated crowd of 3,000 people at the iconic Avant Gardner venue in Brooklyn, NewYork as part of the Indo Warehouse Year One celebration. With ShiShi on the decks and contributing live electric guitar and Adi delivering his haunting, bilingual vocals overthe music, the moment cemented BAHÉ as a powerhouse duo in the making and live act that is sure to be playing festivals all over the world soon.
